Winter Assembly Concert
This was my first orchestra concert at the middle school. This was my third year playing bass and it was by far the best concert I have had. Our songs were Crystal City March, Carmen Carmela, Sonatine, and Fancy Fiddles. I had a good time learning these pieces and I think I did a good job and played a roll in making this a good show. My favorite song was Fancy Fiddles because of how much you can feel the song. It is loud and follows many rhythms.

Student Government Campaign
I have been interested in Student Government since fifth grade when Osborn rolled it out for the first time. This year, when I heard that there was a middle school student government, I ran for the office of sixth grade president. I made a three minute campaign speech and the six posters below. After a long time of giving out hellos and reasons for people to vote for me, it was finally November 4th. During social studies, we took out our laptops and opened up a Google form. In this form we selected who to vote for. Three days later, I went to the principals office and asked if she knew who had won the election. She told me I was runner up. I was a little disappointed, because I had worked by far the hardest, but still lost to a popular girl. I am now a member of student government and I will run again next year.
Here's the speech:

Travel Soccer
I finished my soccer season today. Our record was 2 wins, 6 losses, and 1 tie. I think that I learned a lot during the practice sessions. We probably would have done a little better if we had more dedicated players. I had a great time playing soccer this year and I will play again next year.

Red Belt Promotion
I am really excited that I got my red belt from Steve Sohn's Krav Maga World Wide Training and Fitness Center. I have had my purple belt for over a year, and I learned a lot. For my promotion we did exercises, self-defense, judo, kicks, and sparring. I enjoyed everything, but I am a little sorry for a kid I was sparring that I knocked the wind out of. My Sensei said that I was starting the home-stretch belts.

11th Birthday Party Number 2
On Saturday me and my family had a second celebration for my 11th birthday. It was fun partly because we went to see a play, partly because I met up with my family, but mostly because my mom baked me two cakes.

Watership Down
This summer I read Watership Down with Andrea and Dad. I would give this book 9 out of 10!
I wrote this as an extra-credit assignment for sixth grade. It took a while. I had a lot of fun reading the book.

Camp Seton
This school year is over and I am going to the Seton Reservation in Greenwich, for summer camp. So far I am having a great time. In the mornings we get to do two specific merit badges every week (archery, rifles, ranger, canoeing, fishing), and in the afternoons we can do any of the merit badge activities as well as wilderness survival, rock climbing, swimming, sports, or any additional activities. It's lots of fun to do these activities.

Reflections of Osborn
Graduation from Osborn was delayed this year because of Osborn having to end alongside Rye High School. Finally, after more than half my life, I've finished. I was pretty proud of myself before the ceremony, but the way the crowd cheered made me even happier. However, looking back on it, they probably hadn't even cheered that loudly, I had just adjusted my ears to hear the fake speeches read by students and even worse, the speeches of Rye politicians.

Independence Day
For Independence day me and my family spent did some cool things at the bungalow. After going on a boat, we made stuffed burgers with macaroni and cheese or goat cheese. Then we grilled the burgers. I liked to do this since instead of just grilling something you found in a box, you used raw meat to make something that you grilled. I also liked them because they tasted better. After dinner we went to the dock to watch the fireworks.

Fishing
After a lot of fishing at Camp Seton, I came to the bungalow and tried it out. I caught two sunnys and almost had something that felt huge. Probably the Lake Monster. I had a lot of fun.

Soccer Finals
This year my team made it to the finals for soccer. I had a great time playing soccer. Suddenly discovering that today was the last day of soccer and that we had a chance in the finals. After playing two more games that day, we found out we where in the finals, at which there was a short celebration, and that we would be facing a team that was unbeaten (like us). All of us were excited and all of us thought we would win. We did a little "last minute practicing" and we were sent out to do what we were good at.

Current Events: The Amazing Spiderman 2
I put together my sixth, and last, current events report for 5th grade. It's a review of The Amazing Spiderman 2. I saw a screening of this movie with my friend and her dad, who works for Marvel. My friend and I took the train to Grand Central without any adults. I enjoyed watching the movie and enjoyed the very enthusiastic audience.

2014 Science Fair
This year for the science fair I did a report on electromagnetism.
Working solo and cutting extremely close to the time limit I composed the presentation below. Electromagnetism is one of the four forces of the universe, along with Gravity (which I did last year), Nuclear Weak, and Nuclear Strong. At first I was having trouble because I bought uninsulated copper wire which wouldn't work properly for what I was doing. When I bought the insulated wire, along with three more powerful batteries, I still had to make a presentation. In the end I'm pretty happy about what, if not when, my project turned out to be.

My Response to the Kindness Contract
On Jan 31 Mrs. Garcia called an assembly in the auditorium to announce plans for the month of February. She said that with the help of the iCare team she had made a list of things we should sign. Although I agree with the ideas, I don’t think that we should have to sign off on them. It seems morally wrong that we should be forced to be kind. Shouldn’t kindness come from the heart?
